December election looms as Johnson hints at deal.

It's the front page of the eye paper today,

an organ that is doing some sterling work, actually,

in a crowded but increasingly unimpressive field.

If you're looking for a new newspaper to consult of a morning, I would recommend it harder.

Take your pick. There's three angles there on the current political landscape,

almost all of which are potentially interesting, but the one that intrigues me the most at this point in time

is actually the notion of Labour being doomed to defeat.

But the Liberal Democrats constitute a very, very interesting

side order. I'm not sure Labour are doomed to defeat. And just because Peter Mandelson
