Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Roberts and as always I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Tuesday edition of the yard.

Yesterday was a crazy day. We're going to talk about that pretty much in its entirety today.

Pretty crazy day involving the Mississippi State pitching coach search. And so the original plan, obviously, was to record a Monday show.

I got word yesterday morning that we were zeroing in on a higher.

And I give you, you know, point blank here with you.

Mike Silva from Nickel State was mentioned yesterday morning,

and that was a guy that I had mentioned on Sunday in connection with the Memphis head coaching job.

Yesterday morning, rumors began to make the rounds that he might be your next pitching coach.

A little bit off the radar, kind of like the Kevin Barbay thing, right? I mean, you know, so things happen. You know, that's the thing. You work all day, you make a bunch of phone calls, one day, check in the next day feathers. And so I was waiting until that was resolved of its own volition to record the show. And I wanted to tell you all about your new pitching coach and kind of what was expected. Kind of the backstories as best we could. And then things didn't go as planned. And so I said, well, I'll record the show tomorrow night. Well, then the games kept getting pushed back. And I said, you know what? There's no point in recording the show tonight. show tonight number one I'm tired been on the phone or the message board all day long but I wanted to

wait for those games to be final so we could talk a little bit about the college world series field

you know of course our our rooting interest involves the M over S but so here you are a Tuesday morning show,

and I'm getting this done as early as I can.

Just you guys can have it throughout the day.

So a little bit of an apology and an explanation.

I'm sure you understand.

You know, my intentions were to get you guys a show yesterday.

We'll be back tomorrow with a regular show,

and the wife's coming back today

for a few days. And if you're going to be in Nashville next week, so are we going to see my friends

and Faster Pussycat playing in Nashville. So looking forward to that. Always good to go to a show

and good to reconnect with friends. And I tell you been it's been a good stretch man being around those

guys and so always when they're in a reasonable driving distance I try to go see them play
