This is what we call Vision Weekend.

And I'm going to share some things with you this weekend of where we're going in 2012 of the church,

things that God has spoken to us.

I just want to let you know something about vision. Vision is not dreamed

up, it's dreamed down. In other words, you don't just sit around, the elders don't set around and dream up vision.

We spend time in worship and prayer and in God's presence and we dream down.

The vision comes down from him.

And so that's why I'm extremely excited about where we're going. I want to show you

some things in the word today. So I turn to John chapter 13. Normally I have you turn to

two passages of scripture but we're just going to turn to one this weekend.

John, chapter 13.

This is when Jesus washed the disciples' feet, and it's absolutely amazing to me something that I've never

seen until about two weeks ago reading this passage and it jumped off the page at me.

It's amazing to me also what God's doing at Gateway.

We don't in any way compare ourselves with others, other churches,

we're all on the same team, but we do compare ourselves

with where we've been, all of us, and where God's bringing us to, and that we're in a healthy church,

and we're grateful to be in a healthy church and we're grateful to be in a healthy Bible

believing spirit-empowered church. Would you agree with that? So we're grateful for

what God's done. But the reason God's done it, I believe, is that he has empowered us

because we continue to humble ourselves before him. And that's very, very important.

So I'm going to share with you a little bit about some things that have happened, some places where we're going.
