One of my favorite things to say I learned from Rob Bell, who was an incredible guest on the Let It Be Easy podcast.

He says this, show me a straight river.

Show me a straight river that I love.

Why?

Think about the twists and turns in life.

Right.

Think about it.

You try this relationship, it doesn't work.

You try this job, it doesn't work. You try this job. It doesn't work. You try this work out. You don't like it. And there are no wrong turns, right? A straight river is unnatural. It's manmade. It's ugly. No one cares about a straight river. But think about your life. Haven't there been many twists and turns? Like I was

married in my 20s. I've had a career as a recruiter. I've had a career in software. I'm working now as a

life coach. I've had many iterations of what and how it is that I work. But your life, I'm guessing, as a winding river. And maybe you're in a bend right now,

a new one that you're forming. What's wrong with that? Truly, what's wrong with that?

It's not about arriving quickly because once you arrive, right, you're no longer in the river. You're

in the eternal ocean, which is, hey, your death, right? This is you, hopefully,

many, many years from now. What if we stop thinking about twists and turns that our life

take as anything but perfect and appropriate? Nature shows us this. I had a friend who was going back

to work after her kids were a little older. She was looking for a full-time position. And she first

took a job that was just really unsuited to her in the world of education. And she tried it.

She thought that she was going to love it. and it just, it wasn't a match for her

personality, it wasn't what she wanted. And then she moved into something else completely different,

working with properties. And that job she really likes. And I said to her, look, show me a
