Summary

In this episode of After Hours With Amanda, I’m talking about feeling underqualified as a parent and why “I don’t know what I’m doing” does not have to mean failure.

I’m sharing the story of leaving the hospital with London, realizing no magical parenting knowledge had arrived, and wondering why it was harder to adopt a cat than leave with a baby.

This one is about parenting without ego, learning alongside our tiny humans, apologizing when we need to, and becoming a safe place for our kids instead of pretending we have all the answers.

0:29.8

I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But now that we've just dived in because

0:36.3

I have no chill, obviously obviously and no intro music which

0:39.6

to those of you that have reached out to me about intro music y'all are the salt of the earth

0:43.8

0:49.9

like down and dirty in my closet i've got coffee that I've been trying to finish for the last

0:54.6

like four hours. By the way, it's iced. People are like, oh, you should get hot coffee and then

0:59.3

ice it. And I'm like, no, I just continue to ice my iced coffee that then becomes like coffee

flavored water. But yeah, I figured out, so this is what was happening. Well, the first program was

1:10.7

like glitching.

1:11.3

So then I did another program when I recorded the other episode and found out that if I don't

1:15.4

move the good old mouse on the computer, well, then the silence happens. I didn't know like when

1:21.3

your computer went to screensaver mode. I mean, I don't want to call myself a professional,

1:26.3

but this just feels like the things professionalism is made of.

1:30.3

I'm super stoked about this episode.

1:32.2

I'm so freaking excited to share with you guys what I want to talk about today.
