Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

What will we do with it? Life. It's not a game. And in this journey through the book of Ecclesiastes,

We come to the closing verses of Ecclesiastes chapter 8, and they really are an extension of what we discussed in our last study. So if you haven't listened to the last episode, go back

and listen to it. It's all about the fact that in time, God makes everything right.

You can't see all that now. You can't wrap your mind around it all now, but God in the end always does what is right,

both by those who have followed him and feared him and those who have rebelled and sinned against him.

Well, when you come to the closing verses of Ecclesiastes chapter 8,

Solomon is grappling with this.

He seems in these verses to waffle back and forth between his thoughts and God's truth.

By the way, don't we all do that? Isn't that just like our old nature

and our new nature constantly battling? I can hear Paul say the good that I would, I do not,

and the evil that I would not that I do. So yes, that's my testimony. I so often have thoughts of God's truth and I say, oh, yes, I want that.

And then the flesh pulls in the other direction. And you know that's not right, but you battle with it.

Some of you are in that struggle today. The fleshly reaction versus the spiritual response.

And I really believe that God put this in the Bible for us so that we would see that

all people, good people, God's people, even wise people like Solomon, grappled with
