When were you witness to life's craziest phenomenons?

Once my sister lost the lunch check she was supposed to turn into the office at school.

Later that day she found another girl's lunch check on the ground and decided to do the good deed and turn it into the office for her.

When my sister got to the office though, the girl whose check she'd

found was there, also turning in my sister's check that she had found on the ground earlier that

day. Honestly, the thing that I thought I would never see was a mother's tearful rendition of

0:33.0

You Are My Sunshine. This was at the funeral of her young adult son who had decided he didn't

0:38.5

want to be alive anymore in his room a few weeks after Christmas. This was made even

0:43.0

more sad by the fact that she had previously lost a child to sudden infant death syndrome.

When I was really young, I'd ask my dad if I was his real son because I was Asian and he

was white. He'd always tell me that he was my dad and I was his son. I wouldn't bring it up too often, but for some reason, the thought just itched at the back of my mind. Fast forward to my first year at college. I meet my biological mother and she tells me that my dad isn't my biological father and that I was actually the son of one of my dad's friends from the Navy. My dad didn't find out until I was about five, and afterward he decided to raise me in spite of my mother cheating on him. He's always been my dad. There was so much that it happened to lead up to his decision to continue raising me alone. I have an enormous respect for him. Now that I'm an adult, I can see that not many people would have taken the road he took. He decided that he had a moral obligation to keep raising me, and he wrestled with the legal system back when there weren't many rights for single dads. On the flip side, I also love my mother because, in the end, she realized that she wasn't capable of raising raising me and relinquished full custody to my dad.

You know what's crazy is that my story isn't even unique. So many people have had crazy family

drama. It really puts it in perspective. My husband is a high school football coach and the first

1:56.7

game of the season is tomorrow. He's already been offered money, bedroom favours and free yard

2:02.1

work from parents as long as he starts their kid. He isn't even the head coach. Our oldest son

2:07.4

is on the team and my husband likes to point out that our son doesn't always start either. I really

2:12.6

hate parents. It's high school. It's time to cut the cord. If your kid isn't good, they likely won't be on the field much.

2:20.3

What the actual frick? Is this Texas? Because I know that football is more important than food there, but my God, some of these folks are taking it way too seriously, even for that state. So many questions. What social class is the school? How bad are their kids?

2:36.6

What is on the line for them to offer these things? I work in retail sales, selling pretty

2:42.3

common technology. You meet all sorts of people. People who are weird, people who are cool,

2:47.4

people who are absolute jerks. I've made friends with my customers a few times,
