educational follow-up to Rose's story. And Rosa's story wasn't just about an abuse of relationship.

It was also about her family, the abuse that occurred there,

the gaslighting of that abuse and the loss of trust, and the want of the family that she never

had. So to give context for this episode, for anyone who hasn't listened to our episode with Rose. Rose shared

her experience of surviving childhood abuse, emotional neglect, and financial and psychological

exploitation in adulthood at the hands of a partner who slowly dismantled her autonomy

while presenting himself as her future.

And Rose grew up in an abusive household marked by sexual abuse, physical violence,

emotional neglect, and betrayal.

And from an early age, Rose learned that her safety, her voice, and her needs were not protected.

And she adapted by becoming independent, self-reliant, and emotionally self-contained,

you know, building a life where she could support herself and avoiding depending on anyone else.

And despite that independence, Rose carried shame from the childhood sexual abuse and

the gaslighting of that abuse. And that shame was never resolved, never validated, and never healed.

And as an adult, Rose built financial stability, purchased property, created really security for herself.

But when she entered into a relationship with a charismatic partner, the dynamic really started

to shift and it slowly shifted in what began as excitement and partnership gradually became

financial entanglement, emotional degradation, and

psychological control.

And Rosa's partner quit his job while she supported him.

He pressured her into selling her property and investing in shared assets for their future
