There's nothing more frustrating to a blogger than investing a year or two into a new blog

and seeing little to nothing in return for all of that hard work.

At some point, you have to face what the numbers are telling you.

If you had a business where you were paying $4,000 a month at rent

and $10,000 to three employees, you would quickly abandon that business if you were only making $50

a month. The financial costs associated with a blogger really low, and this leads bloggers to sticking

with their blog niche for up to five years

when they should be moving on after 12 months.

Choosing and sticking with the wrong niche is one of the most common reasons that keeps

new bloggers from having success. There are two unfortunate wrong niche paths that I have seen played out with

new bloggers over the many years of talking with people who listen to my podcast and who have

joined my course. The first bad path is when a new blogger jumps into an extremely competitive

niche where they have a very small

chance of ever getting enough traffic to make a difference. I see this time and time again with new

bloggers going into the how to blog niche. The how to blog niche is one of the most competitive

niches out there.

Even for blogs with a DR-60 plus, it can take up to one to two years to rank on the first page

for the higher-volume phrases.
