Backlinko recently completed a study that found comprehensive content with a high

content grade significantly outperformed content that didn't cover a topic in depth.

In order to create a comprehensive blog post, before you write your first word, you need to

create a stellar outline. And to create an

outline, you have to put in the research. For the most part, bloggers fall short when it comes to

researching a topic and writing an outline. They just want to open up WordPress and start writing.

If you skip the research and outline step, then you're going to be left with an average post

that will not be able to compete with the more comprehensive post on that same topic.

If you don't have access to an AI tool set like Rank IQ,

then you're going to need to manually identify

the most comprehensive pieces of content on Google for the keyword phrase you will be writing

about. The biggest landmine you will want to avoid is to click on the first three to five

results in Google and use them as a basis for your research.

The reason for this is because that many of the top five results are going to be from

super high domain authority sites. These high authority sites can rank on the first page of

Google with mediocre content. If you want to dominate Google by writing the most comprehensive content, then you will

need to take a quick assessment of the top 30 URLs that rank for the topic you

are going after.
