between. However you got here, I'm so happy and I'm just really excited for today's topic. I woke up this morning wondering what I was going to record for this week's episode and I was just mindlessly scrolling on Facebook.

Like literally of all places because I never go on Facebook and I saw a friend of mine post like the first four verses from Psalm 37. I think it was my friend Denise Copeland. So if y'all know where Sean Copeland, he and I record a podcast a little while back. But I believe it was Denise. So shout out to Denise. But I don't know what I'm going to do. knew just even reading the four verses that she uploaded that I wanted to read through the whole thing today because it just it really stood out to me and in reading the whole thing it it made me really reflect on our world today just us as Christians and wickedness in the world and how sometimes we can look at certain scenarios and be like oh my gosh it seems as though wickedness is thriving and that there's no punishment that there's no judgment that the world is basically a garbage

cam little on fire right like where is God maybe find yourself in suffering or in lacking things that you might be praying for or things you want or need or you just simply think life is unfair. Well I'm excited that we're going to be reading Psalm 37 today because it addresses a lot of these things and I think it will help us to shift in perspective shift in priority and to really understand the realities of wickedness the heart of God and who we as believers are called

to be and how we are called to relate in this world and and our real home heaven heaven is our home. So if that's you today really tune in please to what I'm about to read to us I'm going to read all of Psalm 37 from the new living translation and I need you to bear with me for a moment okay because we're not reading four verses we're not reading 15 verses we're not reading 30 verses we're reading 40 verses okay I get it that's a lot

but some of y'all need to get into the word today and this is the word so Psalm 37 starting in verse one don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong for like grass they will soon fade away like spring flowers they soon wither trust in the Lord and do good then you will live safely in the land and prosper take delight in the Lord and he will give you your hearts

as desire commit everything you do to the Lord trust him and he will help you he will make your innocence radiate like the dawn and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for him to act don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes stop being angry turn from your rage do not lose your temper

it only leads to harm for the wicked will be destroyed but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land soon the wicked will disappear though you look for them they will be gone the lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity

the wicked plot against the godly they snarl at them in defiance but the Lord just laughs for he sees their day of judgment coming

the wicked draws their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed to slaughter those who do right but their swords will stab their own hearts and their bows will be broken

it is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich amen for the strength of the wicked will be shattered but the Lord takes care of the godly

day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever

they will not be disgraced in hard times even and famine they will have more than enough

but the wicked will die the Lord's enemies are like flowers in a field they will disappear like smoke

the wicked borrow and never repay but the godly are generous givers those the Lord blesses will possess

the land but those he curses will die the Lord directs the steps of the godly he delights in every detail

of their lives though they stumble they will never fall for the Lord holds them by the hand

once I was young and now I am old yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging

for bread the godly always gives generous loans to others and their children are a blessing

turn from evil and do good and he will live in the land forever for the Lord loves justice
