This happened around the end of summer when I was four or five years old,

right before I started elementary school.

I was taking a nap at my grandparents' house on my mother's side in the countryside.

I woke up feeling thirsty and strangely uncomfortable.

It was the same house I'd been to numerous times, but something felt different.

I was in my grandmother's bed, where I fell asleep, but why was it now in the altar room?

There was also a mysterious door at the end of the hall where there should have just been

a wall.

And it seemed my grandmother had gone out, leaving me all alone in their

huge house. I couldn't hear any cicadas, the small birds and fish that my grandfather loved

were gone, and in the guest room where I had been playing before my nap, there was now a tea
