This week, we're looking at some stories of past events coming back to haunt us here in the

First up, there's a tree at school that people call Ayako San's tree, although nobody is quite

sure why.

When the school decides to cut it down one day, however, things start to get really weird.

At the elementary school I attended, there was a tree called Ayako san's tree.

I don't know what type of tree it was, but it was a thick, massive tree.

I don't know why it was called Ayakosan's tree either.

But because it had that name, there were lots of ghost stories surrounding it, like Ayako

San was buried beneath the tree, or that Ayako san hung herself from it, or that you could

see her sitting on one of the branches late at night.

At any rate, it was decided one day to cut Ayako San's tree down.

The tree was far too large for the grounds, and stood right behind the starting line for the 100 metres track,

so it was in the way for PE classes and sports days.

On the day it was to be cut down, PE classes were held in the gym, and we were forbidden

to use the school grounds because it would be too dangerous.
