Do you remember the Mickey Mouse degrees we used to talk about many, many moons ago?

They're back in the news, although the definition, the description of what constitutes a Mickey Mouse degree has changed.

I have embarrassed myself in the past in describing degrees as Mickey Mouse and

subsequently realizing that they were actually very important areas of study and somewhat

ahead of their time. Most obviously in the arena of media studies, which when I was a young

person hoping to go into the media, I thought was an absolute waste of time.

My late father used to lump it in with babby washing.

You'd say you might as well get a degree in babby washing as media studies.

Of course, what we were discussing yesterday about how you teach children,

how to recognise fake news is, when you think about it, media studies. So are the new, allegedly Mickey Mouse degree is going to prove
