Welcome to our daily Rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the

son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to

pray for. Although God is the author of the human family,

although the first of the commandments about love of neighbor has to do with the family,

despite all these things,

Jesus says something very shocking about family, something that's worth

meditating on. He says in Matthew, do not think I have come to bring peace on earth, for I have come to set man against his father and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter in law against her mother in law, and a man-in-law against her mother-in-law and a man's foes will be those of his own household.

And then, even more extremely, Jesus says,

If anyone comes to me and does not... Even more extremely, Jesus says,

if anyone comes to me and does not hate

his own father and mother, wife and children,

brothers and sisters, yes,

So the Lord is telling people that there are going to be times when you have to choose between being

times come we need to remain faithful to him.
