One of the things I love doing with our kids when they were growing up, and I think

I started this when each one turned nine or ten, and if I'm remembering it correctly, and I'm

probably not. I did it with each one of the kids a few times,

maybe a handful of times. Once a year, I would take each kid, we have six, I would take

each kid for an overnight trip to some place of their choosing. We weren't rolling in the money, so it wasn't like wherever you want to go.

Okay. What not?

It was some place that we could drive in a day, centered around something they like.

For example, one of my daughters, because we lived in Maryland,

and we were a three-hour drive from Manhattan,

she wanted to go to the American Girl store in Manhattan.

So that's what we did.

Took the bus up, walked around Manhattan,

went to the American Girl store, and then came back that day.

One of my sons was really into baseball.

And one of the trips, it might even have been the first one with him,

he wanted to go to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York,

which I think was a five-hour drive away.

And we had an amazing time seeing the Hall of Fame. And it was even kind of supersized special because while we were there, one of the Baseball Hall of Famers was

also there with his family. I don't know if you're a baseball fan, Tom Seaver, name may mean something

to you or not, but if not, he's a great baseball pitcher. And he was there visiting the Hall of

Fame with his family and we saw him and that was kind of cool. But there was an element to that
