0:00.0 | Alright guys, I recently did a video on why you need to consume vegetables, okay? |
0:04.6 | This is a continuation of that when not to consume vegetables, okay? |
0:08.6 | In the last video, just to quickly summarize, you want vegetables between 7 to 10 cups for this |
0:15.7 | reason. One is to get the nutrients that you need. So, vegetables provide the nutrients, |
0:20.0 | especially potassium magnesium. Also, the fiber in the vegetables because we're not doing grains, |
0:26.6 | feed the microbes. And microbes need this fiber to actually survive. And they will give you |
0:33.8 | a friendly acid, it's called butyuric acid, that then feeds your colon, helps normalize blood sugar, |
0:40.4 | decreases inflammation. Now, final nutrients, that would be like carotenoids. All the final nutrients |
0:46.8 | lutein that go beyond just regular vitamins and minerals that give you additional health benefits. |
0:52.5 | Okay, this is very, very important and the oxidants, things like that. Also, the vegetables |
0:57.5 | buffer the pH. So, if you're just doing meat, you're going to acidify things a bit too much, |
1:02.4 | and the vegetables act as a great buffer for the pH. So, it's not always so acidic. |
1:08.1 | Alright, now, when not to do vegetables? Well, when you have this condition called sebow, |
1:14.4 | small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Okay, what is that? That's a situation where your microbes |
1:22.9 | are not all located in the large intestine. The last part of this huge tube that you have, |
1:28.4 | which is like 27 feet long, I think it's like 31 feet long. The last part, the last 5 feet |
1:35.1 | is the large intestine. That's where most of the microbes should live. But in sebow, you have |
1:41.5 | those microbes now living in the wrong place. They live in the small intestine, which is the |
1:46.8 | first part of the tube. Okay? So, if you have these microbes, it's called flora, or microbiome, |
1:55.2 | living in the small intestine, when it should be in the large intestine, they can compete for nutrients. |
2:00.8 | So, basically, you're supposed to absorb all this nutrient in the small intestine. Well, |
2:04.9 | these bacteria will eat that up and keep you deficient in nutrients. So, that's not good. |
