| 0:55.2 | cancer, but has also become a mom to five children through international adoption. Heather and her |
| 1:01.0 | husband most recently adopted two older children, a brother and sister from Ukraine, who were 15 and 11 |
| 1:08.2 | years old, respectively at the time. This was in early 2015. |
| 1:13.0 | Whenever you talk with Heather, |
| 1:14.3 | she is one of these people who comes across is so calm and collected and poised. |
| 1:19.5 | So it's almost easy to assume that her faith and decisions |
| 1:22.9 | for really everything she's gone through, not just the adoptions, |
| 1:26.5 | that all has come easily. |
| 1:28.5 | But Heather shares the reality of their decision process for their last adoption, which was far |
| 1:33.9 | from easy or comfortable. |
| 1:35.8 | And I can personally relate to that as my husband and I adopted our daughter Caroline from |
| 1:40.4 | China when she was 12. |
| 1:42.3 | And while we were very drawn to her, the process of recognizing God's plan and reaching a |
| 1:47.2 | decision to take that leap of faith was a little overwhelming, to say the least. |
