Hi, I'm Dave. Beautiful morning in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. If this is your first time

listening to the podcast and you're wondering, wait a minute, if you're in Myrtle Beach,

how come I don't hear ocean waves? How come I'm hearing an airport? Well, the ocean is,

as I'm standing here pointing, which you can see, is exactly two miles that way. Between where I

am and the ocean is the Myrtle Beach International Airport, and that is a

plane that is rolling down the runway and heading for parts, hopefully not unknown. They know where

they're going. I don't know where they're going. So recently, I was getting ready to begin my workday.

I work from home.

I had a lot of things to do.

I had a busy calendar, a busy to-do list.

I was feeling about the things I had to do,

but they had to be done.

And I was getting ready to start plowing through my to-do list when the power went out.

So I went into the garage, opened the breaker box to see if it was something with one of our breakers and everything looked good.

And then I glanced out my front window and noticed that none of the neighbors had lights lit on their garage and usually several have some of the lights lit. It was daylight, but they hadn't turned those lights off. A number of them, even at that point in the

morning, would still have their lights on and nobody had those lights lit. So I was starting to think,

okay, this isn't just an hourhouse thing, it's a neighborhood thing. Typically, when the power

goes out, and it doesn't happen that often, but when the power goes out, it does not stay out for long.

I have heard that we are on the same power grid as the airport.

So I don't know if that means there's a greater priority to get us back on.

Actually, I don't even know about the truth of that. I do know that when we've
