As you read the scripture and pray and you hear from God,

sometimes he asks you to do things that make perfect sense and you're willing to be obedient, but those around you don't always understand.

I'm John Fuller, along with Dr. Danny Werthe, who leads the focus on the family parenting department.

And I'm thinking, Danny, of a conversation when my folks were visiting me way back when.

We told them that we were going to be homeschooling, our two boys.

And my dad couldn't get his, he couldn't wrap his head around it.

He just said, well, why would you isolate them?

Why would you protect them like that?

Why wouldn't you just let them learn to be normal kids?

And I tried explaining he just didn't get it.

It took a while before they understood, oh, that's working out for them.

That's a great story. So there are moments that when we choose to do something as a parent,

not just our kids, but well-meaning friends and family members, maybe want to get us to change

our mind. Yeah, we're trying to listen to what God's telling us we need to do for our children

and to guide them well.

And sometimes I can feel lonely.
