I have faced seasons in my life where I felt like God just wasn't there. No matter what I did, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't feel his presence. I couldn't connect with the

word. My mind drifted in prayer. I tried to find him, but there were no signs of him. I was stuck in the mess of my life. I felt abandoned and these

still fails but ultimately points us forward to the true and good king Jesus.

And yet this man after God's own heart opens his psalm in this way. How long, oh Lord, will you forget me forever? How long

2:08.1

will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day?

How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Now there's a chance that these words don't immediately bring you comfort.
