0:18.0	When we talked about going through the Psalms here on TMBT, I was intimidated. And I told a couple of friends about it this morning,
0:21.0	so they asked why, and it gave me a chance to put words to my
0:23.9	thoughts. I was intimidated because the Psalms are so
0:27.5	theologically rich and they reflect such a high view of God. They also talked so much about our human depravity and our need for God.
0:35.6	I didn't want to minimize the message and I also don't want to sound repetitive.
0:40.0	How many times can we talk about how much we need God and how willing he is to rescue us?
0:45.4	Yet this is one of the biggest benefits of being in the Psalms. Bringing our
0:50.9	depravity to God never gets old.
0:53.2	It never becomes unnecessary, and God's holiness and mercy never change and never disappoint.
0:59.4	Yet his word continues to reveal itself to us and change us.
1:05.0	We don't have to understand the Psalm from top to bottom
1:08.0	when we read it the first time,
1:09.5	because God will teach us more and more as we come back to it.
1:13.0	Next time we might have a different takeaway
1:14.6	based on what the Holy Spirit knows we need.
1:17.6	I'm so glad we're in the Psalms.
1:19.9	And I'm so glad we're in it together.
1:22.3	The daily rhythm of talking to God about what we need
1:24.8	and remembering who he is and what he can do is so good for the condition of our hearts and minds.
