On the third day was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples.

When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, they have no wine. And Jesus said to her,

Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come. Now that's a surprising

response from the son of God, seems to me, to his mother.

I think Jesus knew it would be surprising.

I think John, when he recorded it, knew it would be surprising.

The story of Jesus turning water into wine is familiar to a lot of us. But when you slow down and listen

carefully to the conversation between Jesus and his mother, it does raise some questions.
