I thought for so long that my contribution to my family was just making sure that they were okay,

that they were well taken care of, and of course that's important, but really the biggest

contribution we can have is our transform selves.

And so if I am not healthy, if I am just like totally neglecting my heart,

then I'm not able to give them my full self. I'm not fully alive. I tend to get way more anxious. I tend to get way more impatient and angry.

But when I'm actually taking time to slow down and to process my life, then I can be a gracious and non-anxious

presence to my family.
