Summary

When something is unsettled in our heart, we do whatever we can to mask it. Work harder, drink more, yell louder, buy something new. Anything to cover up the noise of our soul. We are convinced that if we can make enough noise, the tugging of the Holy Spirit will go away. At the root of our noise-making-efforts is shame. We believe that when things get quiet, we will hear the sound of a sinful heart. And the truth is, you’re right. Your heart is sinful and wicked, deserving of punishment and shame. But there is good news; The Gospel & the fact that God has a reputation of engaging broken and messy people with grace. We either he was either gone, like he either bailed on our family or he was there but he was just totally absent and so for many of us we're trying our best to like be the best husbands and fathers that we can possibly be and yet we had no example of what that actually looked like and so we're stumbling our way through fatherhood we're stumbling our way through marriage but we're. We're totally like we're in it. It's messy. We're messing up. We don't really know what we're doing but we're in it. And that's what Dad Tired is a bunch of dudes like all who can all relate to that message and say, yeah, that's me.
