One year ago, this week, Allison Jackson wrote history as the first Canadian to ever win

Perry-Rubei.

She won the third edition of Perry-Rube Fems after being in the Breakaway all day long and in the end took an incredible

sprint against her Breakaway mates to win the biggest race of her career so far.

I had an awesome chat with her after the race to break down everything that went into the win,

the months of preparation before the win and how she, in a way way manifested her own destiny by making a

tic-toc video about Perry Rubei FEM years before she won the race. It was a

really emotional conversation at one point we were both in tears talking about

her podium experience while holding the rock and looking up to see her teammate

Sarah Poitiman right through the velodrome while the Canadian National Anthem played for both of them.

The day was one that will go down in history as one of the coolest Perry-Rube victories of all time

and especially on the women's side as the race is so new, a win that really opened up

how the race can be won,

and I think will change the way

that the women approach Perry-Rubei for years to come.

We'll get to see exactly what that means for the women on Saturday when they race

Perry-Rubei-FEM of Ex-Wift for the fourth time but for now as we prepare for the
