Lauren Rani and I are on the ground at Leage-Basson-Yage.

Well, we're in the middle of the course we're in the ground almost I mean it's it's mud and

and all kinds of well it's sleet they sleep right now it is sleeting it is snowing and it is really cold so should be an interesting race. We decided to record a little voice out before the race starts this morning because well we're together and that doesn't happen so often so

so we're we're coming into you guys from where are we? We are in Malmity which is a

really beautiful area in the Ardennon. Great mountain biking here.

My son is currently on his little bike. Lila is enjoying the puddles so the kids are making

the most of this weather but I think

there are going to be a lot of riders waking up today thinking oh man it's flesh will on

all over again yeah after Wednesday's, this weather is definitely going to have some people in their heads.

We've talked often on the podcast about how weather impacts the mental state of racing and how some riders when they wake up and

the weather is not good, they have a hard time motivating themselves to get out there

and race their bikes. I think today it's going to be more than most. I mean I must say at least it's not raining. Although yeah sleep, rain. Is there a difference? Abby. Right now at least the flakes are light so you're not getting like

pelted but it is it is not warm and it's just yeah it's melting right on our

jackets right now so you're standing on the start line thinking

you've got how many kilometers to race today with how many climbs to go. Not a fun

start to the day that's for sure we'll be back after the race.
