On Wednesday, President Donald Trump said he'll unveil

wide-ranging tariffs that match the ones foreign countries and polls on the U.S.

The White House says Trump will make the announcement in the Rose Garden, marking his

first news conference of his second term.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV says China, Japan, and South Korea plan to respond.

White House aide Peter Navarro said on Fox News Sunday that he expects the tariffs to raise

$6 trillion in revenue in the next decade, which could amount to the largest tax hike

in U.S. history.

Navarro echoed the Trump administration's repeated belief that businesses

in other countries or the countries themselves will pay for the tariffs, not American consumers.

But most economists say that translates to higher prices on imported goods that American businesses
