Hello, four minutes after ten is a time. I do hope you had a splendid weekend. And oddly enough, my weekend perhaps plays into the first

conversation I'd like to have today because I was in Sunny Kidaminsster visiting my mum.

And that notion of a divided country, one that is somehow set according to whether you are

within or without the M25 or beyond or before the Watford gap seems to be playing quite strongly

across the coronavirus coverage at the moment, perhaps inevitably. Some of the numbers seem

at first glance to be quite startling, particularly perhaps when you view them alongside

a story that I think is developing momentum, but we live in the strangest times, of course,

and culpability or indeed responsibility for dodgy behaviour do not currently garner the weight or the

coverage indeed that they would in normal times. But I am struck by the interview given by the housing secretary Robert

Generate yesterday in which, well, you're not going to believe this unless you've already

seen it.

They kind of, they were talking about how it was decided which constituencies would get a chunk

of cash just before the last general election.

And the story that the Times has been, times has been following is essentially saying that they accepted, ministers accepted 40 towns that had been suggested by civil servants, but they allegedly picked the other 61 towns themselves.

And by an astonishing coincidence, 60 of the 61 were in, we're in Tory seats.

And Robert Generic being interviewed yesterday, well, I'll play you the clip shortly,

appeared to say to me, not to me, appeared to me to say.

It's sound like a chuckle brother, to me, to you, to say.

He appeared to me to say that he gave the green light to one of his colleagues

getting cash for their constituency, and the same colleague gave the green light to him.
