So Beauty Counter is a company. It's a B Corp Corporation that is committed to, well, social

activism and advocacy. And we're really an education first, mission first company where we want to

make sure that people are being educated and knowing what's going on behind the ingredients on

their labels so we can empower them to make safer choices

for their family. Our number one priorities educate people that there has not been a major law

passed in the United States since 1938 that regulates a cosmetic or personal care industry,

meaning that there's really no regulation or accountability on what companies can put into their products.

If you will, it's kind of like the Wild Wild West.

And what we really empower people to do is to learn that they can make better choices and that there are some companies,

companies like Beauty Counter, who are being transparent about their

ingredients, to put safer choices. And what's also interesting, since 1938, since that last

major law was passed, over 80,000 chemicals have been introduced to commerce. Of that 80,000 chemicals,

only 10% of those have even been evaluated for safety or toxicity. And so one of

the things that we really stand by as a company and beauty counter that differentiates us from

other companies in the market is that we abide by a never list. It's a list of over 1,500 ingredients

we will never even consider using in our products. In the European Union, there's over

1,400 ingredients that are linked to endocrine disruption, cancer, autism, all sorts of really

toxic side effects for human health. And what Beauty Counter has done, we've taken that list
