One, rework the current contract that he has. He's due $27 million and $25 million over the next two seasons. That is a heavy, heavy price to pay for someone. Obviously, when he's played, he's been good, but he hasn't played a lot because of the injuries. The number has to be acceptable to Garapolo as well. And one of the things I think that they're looking for on that side of the equation is if we're going to make a move here, we don't want to make a move and have to do this all over again next year.

So potentially guaranteed dollars or guarantee more years so that he's not looking for a new home again next spring.

But again, the Patriots invested a lot of time and energy in Garoppolo's development.

And with the roster they built, especially through a a free agency he would be a perfect fit
