Steve Schmidt here. Welcome to this edition of the warning. We're having a conversation today with

Stephen Beschloss. We're going to get right into it. I just want to say, you know, for me,

when I start my day reading, I always read Stephen at his wonderful substack. I recommend it to all of you that you ought to subscribe to it.

I know that as I sit and I watch a lot of the commentary on a lot of the cable news channels

that, you know, I approach the edge of angerism at least several times a day watching,

watching all of it, all of it play out.

And that's why it's so refreshing to be able to read to hear from Stephen.

And I just want to start out the conversation by laying out, you know, something personal

that drove me crazy over the last couple of years.

You know, I have tried to use language precisely over the last 10 years.

English is a great language.

It has a lot of words that you can use descriptively to paint pictures.

And I've done that to the best of my ability about what's coming.

But one of the words I've used is fascist.

And there's great discomfort in the society with the use of the word,

even though he cleared the line a long time ago.

And Chris Christie in his book some time ago,

not this last book, but the book before that,

when he was still very much, Hale Trump, criticized me, right,

as one of these crazy people in the Republican Party, right, who had become deranged, right,

with this animosity and irrational hatred of Trump, that what we were observing, that what we were

seeing was not legitimate, was not historical, in fact that it wasn't rational, right, that anyone
