What do when we're afraid? I want to talk about that. We're going to go to

2nd Timothy. First in 2nd Timothy are my two favorite books in the Bible. The reason

for that is I relate a lot with this guy named Timothy. I'll explain a little

bit of his background, his story, that sort of thing, but we're doing an investigation

tonight. And here is where things stand as we jump into this story.

Second Timothy is not written by Timothy,

it's written by a guy, a guy, it's written by a guy.

What are you from Australia?

It's written by a guy named Paul. Paul hated Christians, killed

Christians, but then it has this incredible conversion experience.

Change his name to Paul, God change his name,

and now upon writing Second Timothy,

he is at the end of his life.

He is in actually pretty rough conditions in Rome,

and he is days away from his head being cut off.

And he knows it.

So he's writing his last letter, he's writing it to Timothy, which is like a

son to him. Timothy is going to receive this letter. He's approximately in his

mid- 30s.

His church has, it's grown significantly.

It's in this place called Ephesus.

Ephesus was like a New York or an LA in ancient times, it had a hundred temples of worship.
