What was your best or worst time in a game of Truth or Dare? In fourth grade, we were playing

Truth or Dare on the bus home from school. Someone dared my friend to lick the floor of the bus,

and sure enough, he did it. I thought about that moment the whole time he gave his class

president speech at high school graduation. I played Truth Or Dare with a mixed group of kids.

I was spending the night at a friend's house whose older sister was also having a

sleepover. We were three years younger and we were at that age where avoiding the girls was the

safest bet. I think 12 or 13. Anyway, the girls dragged me and my two friends into a game of

truth or dare. After about half an hour of stupid dares it got serious and one girl was ordered

to take me into the closet and make a man out of me.

I was terrified and not even too sure what I was in for.

The girl took me into the closet, sat down next to me and held my hand, said we weren't going to do anything,

and we just sat there for the next 20 minutes as the game continued on outside.

I think she could sense how scared and embarrassed I was. They knocked on the door a few times,

but she would scream at them to go away. The entire time we were in there, we talked about

how stupid the game was and that she was sorry I got singled out. When we finally left after the

others got bored with the game, she explained the whole thing away by saying that she just chickened out. When we finally left after the others got bored with the game,

uneventful as any other night. She saved me loads of shame and embarrassment at an age that

would have ruined me. I love her for this, even though I don't know

her name. I think this qualifies as both my best and my worst. Damn. Oh damn, we are wholesome.
