History on the right to life was made Monday night in more ways than one. Someone at the Supreme Court leaked to the press a draft version of a majority opinion in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The nearly 100-page opinion, drafted by Justice Samuel Alito, says at one point that the high court's rulings in two previous cases allowing abortion on demand "must be overruled.”—Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992). A leak of this magnitude, nearly two months before the anticipated release of the Supreme Court's opinion in Dobbs, is unprecedented.
