This past August, most health bloggers were hit really hard by the Google Medic Update.

Google made a decision to push the large health sites above the small blogs for most of the

health-related topics. The reason behind this made sense. They wanted the articles in the Google

results to be written or reviewed by medical professionals. The big 800-pound gorillas had the

budgets to make this happen, and most of the solo bloggers

This is the biggest example of widespread algorithmic pain to bloggers since Panda and Penguin.

These big algorithm changes get lots of press because of the amount of people negatively
