Hi, this is Josh Marshall and this is the Josh Marshall Podcast.

We got a big shock yesterday when we found out that Tucker Carlson had been fired from Fox News.

You know, we didn't immediately know he had been fired over maybe he left, maybe he quit for some reason.

But pretty quickly we got some indication of the fact that it was with immediate effect.

So, no final episode, no, you know, last couple weeks of episode, you know, he's out immediately.

His emails turned off all that kind of stuff.

You know, when Chris Wallace left Fox News for CNN, I guess was last year.

Maybe he was, I don't know exactly when it was last year or two, and you know, announced that he was leaving.

You know, you announced that you're moving somewhere else and you know, it's a couple of weeks or something like that.

And as we, what we learned over the next few hours is some, you know, that he got the call that morning.

They were advertising for some, I don't know, a special or, you know, some Tucker Carlson thing they were doing promos for Monday morning.

So this happened, he gets a call, it's almost worth an immediate effect that a statement is put out, he's gone.

And this is something that unlike, you know, there are, I think when the Trump indictment finally came down, we didn't expect it that day.

You know, we'd been expecting it six weeks before or eight weeks before, and then I think a couple days before it came out, they put out some like,

that's going to be, we're going to be busy making sandwiches the next two months.

So, you know, it's not going to, not going to happen till mid-summer.

And then it dropped and everybody sort of, oh, my God.
