Now, this week, senior doctors have announced that they are considering stopping paid and unpaid overtime in protest

at the 1% pay deal that they've been offered. The inconsiderate selfish pigs, they're threatening

to stop coming in on their days off and working for nothing. Have you ever known such greed?

For two months we went out once a week to clap them and they're still not happy. And for cabinet ministers, that was even more of a sacrifice than for most

people because they live in bigger houses with huge heavy front doors and long gravelly paths.

So they had to put more effort into their clapping. Paying doctors

with applause is fair enough as long as the economy changes so that applause is currency. And in

Tesco's, they go, uh, that will be £39.57, please. Or nine minutes banging a saucepan

with a wooden spoon.
