Hi, my name is Andy, and welcome to Radio Headspace, and welcome to Monday, the start of

a new week.

I think I mentioned a couple of weeks back, a lot of people are having different thoughts

as a consequence of being shut away in their homes for long periods of time, but what

they're going to do in the future.

On the other day, I was probably about a week ago, I was chatting to a friend, and he'd

had an idea, but he convinced he was going to take on this sort of new path in his life,

in his career.

And then when I spoke to him again a couple of days ago, it changed almost completely, and

I wondered what had happened.

He hadn't spoken to anyone, it was sort of more in his own mind how that story had played

out.

And it reminded me of a very specific time back in a monastery that I lived in, where lay

people.

And not monks and nuns would come and visit and do retreats in the monastery.

During this time, it was all in silence, a very strange thing, a phenomenon almost you

could say, would sometimes happen.

And on the very first day, the men and women would come in and they'd walk into sort

of the meditation hall, and eyes, although, you know, he'd not encourage to sort of look

about too much, eyes would inevitably look up and occasionally meet with another set

of eyes.

Now, as the monks and nuns, we have the opportunity to speak with the retreatans.
