These past two weeks have been a turning point not just for me but for the nation as a whole.

For pretty much my entire life I've had a hesitant to see when it comes to discussing race and the

issues we face as Americans. My concerns always fell somewhere between being worried about

facing criticism from those with opposing beliefs, and concerns that I'd sound like just another

0:17.1

person with a platform talking politics. But this isn't a political issue. Racism is not about

0:22.6

politics, but about a lack of human spirit and those unwilling to see the equality that black

occasion. Those special occasions are really frigidly cold days when someone offers me something nice

1:31.7

that I really can't turn down and when I'm out of mixers, which isn't all that often because I

1:36.2

don't usually mix stuff with sweet drinks or anything like that. If I had to actually choose something

1:41.5

to sip on regularly, my number three option would always be probably whiskey. I used to drink whiskey

1:47.6

all the time and I think I kind of swallowed it for myself. I was drinking the cheapest whiskey that

you could possibly buy. My bottle of choice when I was in my early 20s was early times. I don't know
