It was hard leaving the house just a moment ago.

There's something about hearing the furnace kick on and knowing that warm air is going to be blowing out of those vents in mere moments.

And that happened just before I left the house.

And so there was this feeling of, oh, the furnace, it's going to warm up.

But I have to go outside. And it it's going to warm up. But I have to go outside.

And it's not going to warm up.

We have forced air, gas-powered heat.

Our house in Maryland was an oil furnace.

Oil heat is wonderful.

We had a vent in our kitchen.

It was on the floor.

And the kids when they were younger, actually,

our daughter Emma probably wasn't all that young.

I think maybe even as a teenager she

would wake up in the winter and come out to the kitchen and sit on the vent as the hot

air was coming out. It just felt that good. When I was growing up, the home that I grew up in had radiators, hot water radiators.

So the furnace would heat the water, and then the hot water would circulate through the radiators,

and the heat would radiate into the room and I had a radiator right

underneath my window and I actually used it as I think I put a desk like a tabletop over top of the

radiator it wasn't sitting all the radiator but it was a little bit above the radiator.
