0:16.4	The Biden administration and Congress, or at least some in Congress, are trying to send additional military resources to Ukraine to assist in its defensive war with Russia.
0:22.3	But the funding is being held up as Congress sorts out its
0:25.2	overall funding of the US government. Now the source of the holdup is a
0:30.6	as I said a subset of Republican members of the House. The last time there was
0:36.2	funding before Congress for Ukraine 71 Republican House members voted
0:41.5	against it. Let's assume that's the floor and the
0:44.7	numbers only going to go up from there. That is actually what Speaker McCarthy is
0:48.7	trying to contend with as he cobbles together the votes for Ukraine military funding.
0:55.7	It will get taken care of in the Senate and then come back to the House, but no matter how
0:58.6	it gets sliced and diced, there is this growing resistance to support for Ukraine from Republican elected officials.
1:07.0	Why? What's going on here?
1:09.0	Well, one piece that I was particularly interested in recently published by Fox News
1:14.3	attempted to speak directly to Republican members of Congress on this issue.
1:18.4	It was co-authored by Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State, and Director of the CIA and the Trump
1:24.8	administration and a member of Congress who was a real leader on national
