What's Ray saying?

Greediest friends, this is Ray, the source of all black knowledge, with a few updates on me and the podcast.

Well, I wanted to acknowledge first that over the last few months, we have not been releasing content for the show as before.

And the reason for this, you see see is I live in Wataga County,

Boone, North Carolina, in the mountains of Appalachia.

And we were severely impacted by Hurricane Helene,

flooding and wind damage. And we were out of power and water for a few weeks

and the roads and the bridges were destroyed and this included damage to our

home the loss of personal items some animals as did others, some making even greater sacrifices.

But now we're all safe and getting back to it and on that journey of recovery individually

and as a community.

But after all that rained,

there still emerged some emotional sunshine.

You see, what's racing has been recognized

by winning three black podcast awards

for best editing,

best history, and best solo hosts.

The show was also recognized by being awarded a Gold Signal Award for History and a listener's choice award.

So big thanks to you, all the listeners and the good folks at PRX Productions headed

by the amazing Jocelyn Gonzalez.

So in the meantime, stay tuned and know that you will hear from us soon as we add fresh new content into the feed and make plans for a full new season.
