What's actually important in this life?

Doing a collection of sermons, I think I'll do two or three more.

And so the overarching title and theme or target or goal

for these talks and these sermons is that we together decipher even

uncover and rehearse or revisit or maybe remember what's actually important in life.

If you're like me and I'm going to get pretty honest here in a moment,

on any given day, I can easily miss and allow what really is important and what really matters to get buried in minutia,

to get buried in details, to get buried in running errands, paying bills, following through,

and making sure that my furniture doesn't get stained,

and my clothes don't get stained.

You know, like, we can get so compulsive about things

that in the grand scheme of things don't really matter.

We're coming up on the Super Bowl, right?

And so we know that at the Super Bowl everybody's going to pay $100 million for a commercial.

These commercials are going to try to tell us that what they are selling

is the single most important thing in the whole wide world or something like that.

You have to have it. You got to drink it. You got to wear it. You got to try it. You got to fly there. You got to go see it.

And of course we live in such an age where we are told by nearly everyone and everything this is so important.

I've said it before, I'm gonna say it again.

If everything is important, nothing is important.

Are we willing to, as we enter into not only a new year but a new decade right into the 20s to really allow ourselves the freedom give ourselves the permission to let go of things that actually don't matter and to focus on give our energy

and our passion to things that actually matter. Everyone talks about how many hours
