Good morning. Three minutes after ten is the time. I hope you had a splendid weekend.

Lots to get through today. Well, I say lots to get through today. It's the sort of one story demanding our attention,

obviously, is the climate change summit, the COP 26 meeting in Glasgow.

But more at the moment a case of demanding our attention because of where it sits on the news agenda than because of events, dear boy, events.

Fears expressed already by the Prime Minister that not enough might happen.

So it's news but not news at the moment.

But as ever, my job, of course, is to come up with ways in which you and I can have an interesting conversation,

even in the absence of events, dear boy events.

And then you've got this very sad scenario, probably inevitable,

of Boris Johnson and Emmanuel Macron, like two, I don't know,

what is it, like two bald men fighting over a comb,

is the description that springs to mind at first. You'll remember,

of course, that one of the only remaining rationales for the entire madness of Brexit was to look

after our fishermen, to look after our fishing industry. It has, by most accounts, including

those of the fishing industry, come to absolutely nothing. They're mostly considerably worse off.

And yet, of course, Emmanuel Macron prioritising his fishing industry

or a relatively small number of French fishing boats,

that is madness personified.

Leaving the entire European Union in order to help fishing

and then not help fishing at all is political genius.

But over-es escalating the scenario the
