Summary

I've worked in the beauty industry for a long time and I'm also a pretty tough beauty consumer, so if a product doesn't deliver I shan't give it my time or any real estate in my makeup bag. In this episode I share with you what's in my makeup bag right now. It's a low maintenance, high performance makeup bag designed to do everything from a low-key, weekday look to a smoky extravaganza.

Hello, hi and welcome to another episode of the Emma Gunn Show. I'm so glad you're here. Thank you so much for joining me. I am your host, Emigone Awardner, and in today's episode, I'm going to reveal something that I get asked time and time again. And it's Emma, what's in your

0:26.6

makeup bag? Like, right now. And it's true, I get asked an awful lot, what's in your makeup bag? What

0:34.7

products are you using right now? Now, if you're new to the show,

0:38.0

maybe you've been tuning in hashtag a potter day in May, you may be thinking, hang on a tick,

0:43.5

I thought this podcast was all about wellness and health or inspiring guests in the books

0:46.9

that will change your life, and you're not wrong. But if you don't know my background, I was a

0:51.7

magazine beauty editor for 15 years before moving into podcasting and freelance journalism. I am still very much entrenched in the beauty industry,

1:00.1

in the magazine world, and so get to try things before they launch, work with brands on new product

1:05.1

development, and have probably tried, swatched or seen inside a product before or as it hits the shelves. I've been very lucky to go into

1:15.4

labs. I've seen a lipstick before it's a lipstick. It's a wonderful place to be. I am also a very

1:23.7

low-level trained makeup artist, meaning I did the training. It was three-day course.

1:28.7

It was amazing. But I do it for friends and I apologize if need be. I've never had to, but

1:32.9

you know, it's always good to have that caveat. But that's why I feel very confident talking

1:36.8

about skincare and makeup and why I'm very happy to share the contents of my current makeup bag

1:41.1

and why I think these products are so good. And in all seriousness,

1:50.5

I take my role as somebody in the beauty industry, a content creator very, very seriously.

1:55.0

If you listen to this podcast regularly, you'll know that I would hate to steer you in the one direction, make you spend money that you don't need to spend. I will always, always

1:59.4

be on your side and try to get the best product

2:02.6

into your hands. So, first things first, the bag itself is just as important as the contents.

2:09.3

Now, I've never been a fan of a top opening zip bag. You know what I mean, like a pouch or a

2:15.4

coin purse, but big. I have much preferred a zipped travel

2:19.2

bag, the ones that lie flat and open around, so you flip open the top to reveal what's inside.
