I'm Emily Campaniel, and this is the Fox True Crime podcast.

Thank you. True Crime Podcast. Karen Reid was back in court on Tuesday for the last time before her second trial begins

next week.

The 44-year-old Reid is accused of killing her

boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe, by running him over with her SUV after a night

of drinking. Reed's defense team, however, claims she's being framed as part of a larger cover-up

by law enforcement. Reed's initial trial lasted over two months,

and after five days of jury deliberation,

ended in a mistrial.

On Tuesday, Judge Beverly Canoni ruled against Reed's motion

to dismiss the case against her.

She also denied the prosecution's request

for access to texts between Reed and her attorney.

Jury selection for Reed's second trial will begin April 1st. Joining me now with a look at
