We've been spending some time over the last couple of weeks talking about the problem of evil,

and it's really sometimes hard to address the problem of evil, this claim that

why would God, an all-loving, all-powerful God, allow evil to exist in the world? Now, I know having

done this for a number of years, having worked on cases that are really sometimes the truest form of evil,

victims' families often ask us, well, why would this happen to my daughter why would this happen to my

son and and and so you've got to be able to offer an explanation and sometimes the explanation is if

I'm honest to you they're pretty weak because in the moment the victim's family is really suffering in a

way that's not going to be addressed properly by my rather mechanical, rational explanation of evidences

and why certain things happen a certain way. Even if I've got a really robust theological view on

this, the odds of my having an impact with people who are just suffering the pain of the moment

is not really all that good. And so I think it's a matter of time. Now, when you recall cases,

that the beauty of those is that a number of years is passed by. So now we can really begin to

talk deeply about these issues with people who have had some time to soften the blow a little
