I've talked with thousands of business owners over the last two decades and what most

of them have told me about their journey is they started out because they needed money.

They were good at something, they had an idea, and they had bills to pay and so they built

a business.

And then what happens is when you build a business, you know, things get hard and to keep pushing

through the hard graph that you have to do in business, well, you have to have more than

just a desire to make money, you have to have a burning desire to make a difference.

Keaton is the president and founder of Turner Mining Group, a national contract mining company

with over 150 team members and growing.

Keaton knows what it's like to start a business from scratch with no resources, nothing in your

pocket, but what he had was a burning desire, a desire to make a difference.

And he has pushed through failure, he has pushed through the storms, he's built an incredible

team and an organization that's absolutely flourishing.

But he didn't start out running his own business right out of college, he started out where

most of us started out with a job, a job in his family's business.

He was working for his uncle's excavating company.

In college, I started working for my uncle, he had a small, heavy civil company, excavation

company.

We dug football fields, landfills, we did some mining work.
