you build your own. I was on a call and one of the things that was brought up was a lesson that I

learned with proximity. I'm going through this whole conversation of a story and they asked me

like one of my mentors and like what I did and what I suggested and

it took me a second because when I was in my young 20s a friend of mine I saw go like he was

have any of you all had those friends in high school that they were like the troubled kid in

high school always getting in trouble you know your parents were like don't hang out with him. You know, the one that was drinking or doing drugs or partying or whatever, right? The distraction could barely pass high school, flugged out of college. And then all of a sudden I get a phone call from someone and saying, oh, you got to talk to this guy. He's doing

prepaid phone cards and he's making like over a million dollars a year. And he's from your little small town. And so at the time I went to high school in this little one horse town. And so I was like, well, I have to know who he is because he's similar to my age. I go, who is he? And they said his name. I'm like, you've got to be kidding me. Because he was that guy, right? But he was making a

million dollars a year. And I thought I was really big time. I was 21 years old making five figures, you know, over 10 grand a month, 100,000 a year. Back in 1992, that's a ton of money, right? It's still a ton of money. And so I'm thinking, I'm cool, and I hear this.

And it's like, well, what's his name?

You know, and they tell me his name.

I'm like, you have to be kidding me.

He's not making that.

They're like, yeah, he is.

So my brain immediately went to where?

And this is what I say is the magic of modeling or teaching or coaching anyone in life.

My brain went, high school trouble kid, college flunky.

If he can do it, hell, I know I can do it.

Why?
